Caring Hearts Food Pantry

UPCM teamed up with the Food Donation Connection and a local WaWa in May, 2016.  This has allowed us access to surplus food that WaWa has frozen and put aside for us to pick up and then distribute to people in need. These are frozen breakfast and lunch items that have been fully cooked and just need to be warmed in the microwave.
We have been delivering this food to several families in the township each week. We pick up the food on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, sort, package, and deliver it. We could use some additional help with this so we can rotate. Please let Cathy Brown or Barbara Truscinski know if you can help.
During the summer months, the Master Gardeners and some others from our Community Garden donated more than 800 pounds of fresh produce, which we also distributed to the community.
We have also donated food to our seniors in our community.
In addition, in November the Millstone Township Cub Scouts “scouted for food” and donated more than 1,000 pounds of non-perishable goods to our church, which has allowed us to continue stocking our food pantry at the Ministry Center. The Millstone Girl Scouts have also continually donated to our pantry.

We are offering this food to needy people in our community and surrounding area. The pantry at the Ministry Center is open on the second and fourth Saturday morning each month from 10:00 am until noon  If people are in need and cannot come at that time, they can call the church office (732-446-2300) to schedule an Appointment.
We have been serving several local people already and continue to expand as the word gets out. There was an article in the Millstone Examiner and it is posted on Facebook and our website.
We are in need of volunteers to man the pantry and help keep things organized. Please contact Barbara Truscinski if you can help out on a Saturday morning for 2 hours.
We are asking for donations of the following non-perishable items that need replenishing:
Peanut butter, jelly, canned tuna fish and chicken, canned fruit, parmalat milk, juice, tissues, toilet paper, paper towels,  hand soaps, deodorant, tooth paste and tooth brushes, shampoo and conditioner, and canned soups.
Donations may be dropped off in the church or at the Food Pantry. Thank you for your generosity.
